Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American musician and singer from Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. She released her first EP for the label on Oct. 21st, 2016, titled Pho. This is when she began gaining fame. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It came out in May of 2019. Ari Lennox began posting her music to the internet back in 2012 after she dropped her first mixtape called Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography In 2013. In 2014, she released new music through the internet including Bound. She appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes as well as on Sweat It Out on July 21 the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole had her send her songs for the Dreamville Team later in the year, as he wanted Rihanna to be able work alongside her on some of the songs. The 8th of December was the day she revealed that she had officially signed by Dreamville Records. The release album Revenge of the Dreamers II She was on the track Backseat with Cozz. The 21st of October, 2016, she released her debut EP titled Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's hit song Change and was an opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. The year 2018 saw Ari Lennox appeared on two tracks featuring EarthGang On Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas, on Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on the 16th of July in 2018. The music video later released in September. In November, she released the singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. Then, in November 2013, she released No One, and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby is a song that she performed with Cole for Creed II's soundtrack on the 16th of November. It was then released as a single on its own in February 2019, to coincide with her debut album. In February 2019 her music video to the song was released. It has had over 3 million YouTube views within a week. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK during the From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
